Unfortunately, budget smartphones such as Redmi 7A and Redmi 8A did not receive an infrared port. Devices that are not equipped with a sensor can only control Mi TVs and Mi Boxes by connecting to the same Wi-Fi network.

How to set up and use Mi Remote

The program is initially installed on Xiaomi phones. It is located in the “Tools” folder. The icon has a white circle on a blue background.

1. So, after downloading and installing, open the application. Click on the big green button at the bottom of the “Add Remote” screen. In the next window, select the type of your device and manufacturer.
2. You need to follow the prompts on the screen. Point your phone at the device and execute test commands. For example, turning on/off the TV. If the device responds, then the interaction is configured correctly.
3. In a special column, enter the name of the device and indicate the room in which it is located below. It can be a living room, bedroom, study, dining room, office. Or just select the default location.
4. Then a remote with various buttons will appear. With it, we increase / decrease the volume, change channels, etc. It is also possible to simultaneously control several appliances from one panel (using the “My Room” function).

How to install (update) Mi Remote controller
